Avenue Montaigne, located between the Champs Elysees Avenue and the Seine river banks, is the most upscale shopping avenue of Paris. Avenue Montaigne is also the name of an incredible brand I just discovered at 100% Kids, a popular children’s clothing store that has been around over 20 years in Cedarhurst and has in the past few years started carrying women’s clothes. Since a large percentage of 100% Kids fashion forward clientele in the orthodox neighborhood of the Five Towns wear more modest styles, walking in there is an orthodox women’s dream. There are so many great brands to choose from such as Hard Tail, Joe’s Jeans, Ella Moss but my all time favorite is the huge selection of Avenue Montaigne skirts that hit just at the right place by the knee where modest meets chic.
So today I decided to put together a few looks keeping modest in mind based on my three absolute favorite Avenue Montaigne skirts (The Pleather, Light Wool Camel and Blue Denim). First I want to say that these skirts use the most exquisite fabrics. You can tell the tailoring is impeccable. When you put on an Avenue Montaigne skirt you know it will wash well and maintain it’s shape. The denim and pleather also have a “spanx” like quality that seems to hold you in in all the right places.
Look One: Boho Chic
I love this look because it’s fun, funky and doesn’t scream modest. I can see myself strolling down a village street and fitting right in. I am wearing the Avenue Montaigne blue denim skirt ($158) that has no bulk, no pockets, no seams and fits like a glove. Hits me right by the knee too. (pictured with: Ella Moss Fur Vest$260, 3/4 Sleeve Splendid Navy Shirt $58, Cheveux Fedora $48 and Linea Pelle Leather bag $400)
Look Two: Comfortably Sexy
The Camel Avenue Montaigne light wool skirt is a wardrobe staple. It can be worn in so many ways and with so many different colors. Gray, red, black, brown…I love how it hugs your curves without revealing too much. (pictured with: Ella Moss striped sweater $118, Cheveux Fedora $48, and Linea Pelle Leather bag$400)
Look Three: Daring but Darling
Again I’m wearing the Camel Avenue Montaigne light wool skirt and am pairing it with a fun leapard sweater and belt. The Snug Tank is a great piece because it also holds everything in. This is a fun casual look that is great for running about town without looking too overdressed. (pictured with: Acrobat leopard cardigan $128, Snug Tank Top $40, Cheveux Fedora $48, and Linea Pelle Belt $198)
Look Four: Sleek & Chic
My favorite piece in the collection is this Avenue Montaigne Pleather skirt. It fits beautifully, looks like the real deal and is an absolute wardrobe essential. Oh the things you can do with a pleather skirt! Here is a more dressy look where I pare it with a sparkly black sweater. (pictured with: T Los Angelos Sweater $188, Snug Tank Top $40, Cheveux Fedora $48)
Rumor has it that 100% Kids is looking to continue to grow their modest and chic collections of clothes which is great news for all of us who love fashion but have a hard time finding the right choices.
